The piece Voltaic may be performed as a solo for viola d’amore, or as a duet with a musician performing live electronics.

The musician performing live electronics may improvise electronics with their own set-up, or use the live electronics processes designed by the composer, or a variation thereof. The archival software and instructions are made available under the GNU General Public License.

You will get the score and the original software for Voltaic, for viola d'amore & live electronics.

The original program is a set of Max patches, patches for Apple Mainstage, and presets, made available as free software: you can redistribute it and/or modify it under the terms of the GNU General Public License as published by the Free Software Foundation, either version 3 of the License, or any later version. The patches, as used for the premiere of the work (see video link above), make use of external plugins (delay, reverberation, and more) that may be replaced by your favorite ones. The program may be modified for use on Apple or Windows systems that would not have the same plugins available.
